Dear Quilters,
This is the year we Cape Town quilters have all been working and waiting for – our very
own Cape Town Quilt Festival – www.quiltfestival2011.co.za
Every Good Hope Quilters Guild quarterly meeting has kept us up to date with the
progress of the organising of the event and we have been encouraged to finish our
quilts for the exhibition.
2010 was a good year for STITCH ‘N STUFF with many new students learning the art
of patchwork and quilting. Holly has been teaching a lot more now that she is back in full
swing and her BLOCK OF THE MONTH STAR PATTERNS have been a winner with the
Creative Quilters and any other clients who have seen her examples in the shop. The
fun thing about doing a block of the month is the fact that you don’t have a lot of work
to do for each square and you only get one pattern a month, so there’s plenty of time to
get on with other UFO’s that need completing. (Nudge nudge, wink, wink)
Although 2011 is going to be an action packed year for us quilters, I do hope to organise
another weekend at Goedgedacht after the festival in July. If you are keen to join us,
please give me your name to put on the “interested” list and I shall contact you as soon
as I have a date in mind.
